Just a mile south of Helmsley, Sproxton alternates with Rievaulx for its fortnightly 11am communion service (2nd and 4th Sundays). The people of the hamlet make up a lively little congregation in a church building whose 17th century open, square shape works well for communal worship.

Its little gallery also helps accommodate the audience for its now well-established annual concert (by Ampleforth College) in May.
