Details for those setting up their Christmas Trees from Noon on Wednesday 26 November to Noon on Friday 28 December 2025

Thank you so much for participating in the 2025 Helmsley Christmas Tree Festival.

We hope that trees will arrive by 12 Noon on Wednesday 26 November.

You will need to provide your own stand and your creative decorations, we can't wait to see them. This year lights will be provided, no own lights thank you.

We have allocated spaces for your tree and each tree will be numbered, the plan is available in church during set up and someone should be available to help you find your tree/space.

The sign up sheet for stewarding will be available in church during set up.

We will send a draft of the brochure so that you can approve your entry.  If we don't receive any response, we will assume you are happy with it.

Your tree should be set up by Noon on Friday 28 November.

The church will be open on Wednesday 26 (12-7pm) Thursday (9am-8pm) and Friday (9am to Noon) for you to decorate your tree.

Tickets for the preview event will be available to purchase from Elijah Todds and Porters Coffee Shop.

Trees are to be dismantled between 4 and 6pm on Saturday 14 December.  The trees are yours to take away.

Frequently asked questions

Who can take part and why?

Anyone can take part either as an individual or on behalf of a group, charity or business. You can take part to promote your organisation or celebrate the life of your community or group or simply have fun being creative and imaginative around this year’s theme ‘Angels of Hope’.

Is there a charge for having a tree?

Yes, trees are provided at a cost of £40 each, You will need to provide your own stand and decorations but lights will be provided. This is to help those setting up the festival each day, the lights will be controlled centrally.

Can I use my own lights?

Sorry, no thanks. To ease the burden on our volunteers and stewards and for health and safety reasons we are providing uniform static lights this year.

Can I book online?

Visit the church website https://www.helmsleyparish.org.uk/ or book online at https://bit.ly/3XnzIKW

How may I decorate my tree?

The theme of this years festival is ‘Angels of Hope’, but essentially you can decorate your tree anyway you wish it only needs one Angel, perhaps on top. You may like it to reflect your business or community group.

Will there be a competition for the best decorated tree?

Yes - Best Decorated Tree (to be decided by public vote). We will announce the winners on Facebook and at our Sunday Services.

What will be the entrance charge for visitors?

There is no entrance charge. Donations and proceeds from the festival will be split between Yorkshire Air Ambulance, Helmsley Together and Helmsley All Saints PCC (Registered Charity No. 1209878).

Will there be a guide or brochure for the event?

Yes, please submit a short paragraph about yourself, your company or organisation with the booking form so our visitors know about you and what you do - a bit of self promotion. Don’t forget to let us know if there is a competition or opportunities for visitors to tag themselves on your social media accounts.

Do I have to do anything else?

We hope that you will want to spend an hour or two during the festival in church welcoming visitors to the event. Please indicate your availability on the form overleaf. But don’t let it put you off decorating a tree.

What happens afterwards?

Nearly all the trees have to be taken out of church when the festival is over on Saturday 13 December, by 6pm.
